The view from Mom Tri’s

Here we morning of day four already! Yesterday was our first rainy day, but that didn’t deter us. We had lunch at a great restaurant which was connected to the resort next door, it looks out over a cliff face out to the Andaman Sea. I gorged myself on seabass, prawns, mussles and squid it was awesome food!!

While we were eating we watched as about 10 Thai men climbed over the rocks to get to the better beach we are staying. In their jocks they made there way across wave infested rocks, it was funny as the first few guys didn’t seem to care we could see them, but the fourth guy had a mini freak out and quickly ran back to cover when he found out we could see him in his underwear. Other came and waved as they went past while the “shy guy” tried to make a grass skirt out of palm tree leaves, we were in fits of laughter as he walked passed with his new skirt on!

Funny thing was once he got to the beach there were others there anyway and he was going to be swimming in his undies for everyone to see.

We found out that these guys were from the construction site around the corner and they were having their lunch break at the beach!

After a midday snooze we left the hotel at 5pm for the FantaSea extravaganza! Elephants, white tigers, white crows and plenty of other albino animals!! It was a show about the history of Thailand…we think. It was quite hard to follow but it was something about an elephant called “Iyara”. There was an Angkor Wat type theme so it must have been about the war with Cambodians.

Before the show we got to feed huge goldfish and….Elephants! That was actually really fun…we got buckets of sugercane and bananas and with their trunks they came sniffing us out and trying to grab it from us. We got a photo but need to get it from someone before we leave…so I’ll post it later.

We got back to the hotel at about 12 and we hit the hay. After breakfast this morning we went to Phuket town just to wander around and see what it was like. It really didn’t have that much to offer so we came back to Kata Noi and just cruised around…got massages, had some beers. I’ve just gotten back from a bodysurf in the beach, which was a little difficult as the waves were coming from everywhere…still a lot of fun!
